An Albergue from Pilgrims to Pilgrims!

Casa da Carolina is a dream come true of a family of pilgrims, born on the 1st July 2019.

After walking the Camino together, the desire to open our house to those who pass by on the Camino was bigger and bigger each day!
After thinking, planning and revising each detail, we finally opened this space completely dedicated and designed for those who stay here overnight!

Casa da Carolina is a Pilgrims' Albergue/Hostel located 5km before Viana do Castelo, ideal to for those who are looking for a relaxing night after a long day of walking or for those who want a peaceful but, at the same time, fun place.

Here, you'll have the oportunity to live an environment of community and sharing, with people from all over the world and with the art of the portuguese welcoming, where we hope you feel at home!

Knowing how good it feels to see a comforting welcoming smile after another walking stage, we will welcome our pilgrims the best way possible and we hope to leave a positive mark on their Camino, with a wonderful stay and unforgettable memories!

We open our house to you and we want you to be a part of our family!

From pilgrims to pilgrims, welcome to Casa da Carolina!
Who is Carolina after all?

I am 25 years old and the youngest daughter of the Maciel's. I’m cheerful and dedicated, friendly and curious, helpful and have a strong personality. I've walked the Camino twice so far and I plan to keep on doing it!

Without a doubt, I am passionate about languages and their speakers’ cultures, passionate about the Camino and about the internationality of the world.

A scout for as long as I can remember, I am adventurous, resourceful and enthusiast of new and challenging experiences. I play accordeon and euphonium in a philarmonic band of Alto Minho, consequently I am a music lover and very proud of my Portuguese roots.

I’m have a degree in Translation and, for now, I speak Portuguese, Spanisch, English and German, but, in the future I intend to master French and Dutch as well.

I am the one who embraced this project, who welcomes the pilgrims daily, as well as helps them planning the rest of the Camino and dreaming about their next one!
